Ok there is NO way this can just be happening to me. No way. It has to be happening to a lot of you out there as well. In fact, I would say that it happens to almost all of you.
Every freaking month.
We all know the dick dance that we have to play with the cable companies. That's right, I am looking at you Comcast. You call them up and complain your rate is too high (which it always is!) and they tell you that you had a special "promotional" package that just ended and that is why your rate is higher. Oh you only had HBO and Cinemax for 9.95 a month for six months, that rate is over so they are now 29.95 a month.
That's Shenanigans and bullcrap that we have to go through that.
So I called Comcast a few months ago, played the dick dance, and got my rate lowered. That lasted all of one month. Just got my bill and BAM! my bill is 30 bucks higher. In a single month. Mind you I didn't add anything or change anything or order a ton of on-demand late night skinemax double features (at least this month I didn't). So...what up with the $30 increase?
So I am going to call them again, say (for lack of a better phrase) "what up with the increase?" and then go through jumping through hoops again. It's completely unnecessary and a total waste of time and energy. Even if I don't have a special package end and my bill goes up 30 bucks, usually each month my bill goes up a buck or two for no apparent reason.
So I am calling Shenanigans on the cable companies (and to be fair, I am sure Comcast is not the only blood sucking vampire to do this) and their stupid promotional packages that run out in 6 to 12 months and your rates skyrocket all at once. Let me sign up for a package that has one rate and stays that rate for as long as I have your service. I change plans I change rates, that seems fair. Now FIOS people are going "oh we do that! We do that!" and that's great but nobody uses FIOS so it doesn't matter. Thanks for playing.
Stupid cable bills.
